Year 2009 rankings of law offices

Home & Market for the third time prepared its Ranking of Best Law Offices. Only those law offices that responded to a questionnaire sent by the Institute for Economic Analysis’ were included in this ranking. In preparing this ranking, the following criteria – among others – were taken into consideration: tradition of operations on the Polish market, number of barristers, total number of lawyers employed as well as size of the largest transaction that the given law office worked on. Home & Market magazine, in its last edition, give our Law Office 9th place.
In the Book of Lists ranking prepared by the Warsaw Business Journal annually and based on the number of barristers employed, our Law Office in the year 2009 was ranked 41.
The daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita also published its newest edition of the Ranking of Law Offices. In the set of largest selected transactions and disputes, cases handled by Stopczyk & Mikulski were listed in two key areas: company law (non-pecuniary (in-kind) share capital increase in the company TCL Operations – PLN 110 M) and public procurement (tender procedures prepared by PKP PLK S.A. with a value of € 1.5 billion).
Once again, we were also listed in the group of growing mid-sized Polish law offices. In the listing of the 215 largest law offices, based on number of lawyers, we were ranked 97th with 17 lawyers, of which 7 are counsellors-at-law (mid-sized law offices having between 15-30 lawyers were ranked from 44-125), where in the list based on the number of attorneys-at-law (adwokat) and counsellors-at-law (radca prawny) we were ranked 113th.
